Expert Styling Tips for Human Hair Wigs

Be careful to pin through the sturdy perimeter of the cap, avoiding the delicate lace front or monofilament top.

Always Use Heat Protection

Heat damage is irreversible. Because your wig cannot repair itself, you must protect the hair cuticle before applying any heat. Always mist the hair with a high-quality, professional-grade heat protectant spray. Allow the spray to dry for a few seconds before using your tools.

Mind the Temperature

You do not need maximum heat to achieve a beautiful style. Keep your flat irons and curling wands at a moderate temperature—ideally between 300°F and 350°F. Higher temperatures will rapidly dry out the hair, leading to breakage, split ends, and a shortened lifespan for your wig.

Sectioning for Success

Don't try to style large chunks of hair at once. Use sectioning clips to divide the hair, just as a professional stylist would. Start at the nape of the neck and work your way up to the crown, styling small, manageable sections. This ensures that the heat is applied evenly and results in a much smoother, more polished look.

Adding Volume
